Getting Muddy: FOR KIDS and families!

Service Description

PLEASE REVIEW ALL INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING THIS CLASS: Families, this class is for you and your kids! This is a fun activity and you will get to experience the thrill of using an electric pottery wheel to create a simple vessel. This class is kind of an introductory taste of playing on the pottery wheel. You will receive step by step instructions on how to make the vessel. The class fee includes a second session to apply glaze and additional details to your creation. Please schedule this at the end of the class. IMPORTANT Ages under 8 MUST share a wheel with an adult. You only pay for the child. Ages 9-17 can work on their own wheel but must be able to follow instructions. Parents, Grandparents and Guardians are welcome to book a spot alongside your kids. Kids under 3 are not recommended but if you bring them you can expect to have a fun time with more of a mess than a pot, LOL. DO NOT book this class for adults only. Please find the Getting Muddy: Date Night and Small Group classes and sign up there. IF YOU SIGN UP WITHOUT KIDS YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY AND YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR CLASS FEE. Up to 8 seats available. You can only book the number of seats available. If class cancels you will be notified 24 hours in advance with a full refund. If the class has less than 4 it will be canceled. WHAT TO EXPECT: Maggie will demonstrate the process of forming a simple pot. Then it's your child's turn to give it a whirl! Once done, the clay will then need to dry for a few days and the studio staff will do a final prep on the vessels and fire them to bisque. Pick a date before you leave to come back and glaze your vessel adding color and decoration to their creation. It gets fired again and you have your very own handmade pottery vessel!All pieces created during the session will be fired and ready for pickup about a week after the glazing session. IMPORTANT NOTES: All skills levels welcome. Be patient with the clay and with yourself. FUN is the goal, not perfection! NO spectators. Cost is $40 per participant. No refunds given for no-show.
